One of the pages I&#8217;m most proud of:<\/p>\n<div><a data-postid=\"fsg_post_773\" data-imgid=\"1038\" href=\"http:\/\/www.everettpatterson.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/SN6pg6.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"SN6pg6\" src=\"http:\/\/www.everettpatterson.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/SN6pg6-724x1024.jpg\" width=\"724\" height=\"1024\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>Ever since meeting the artists of <a href=\"http:\/\/periscopestudio.tumblr.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Periscope Studio<\/a>, I&#8217;ve been very mindful of &#8220;shortcuts&#8221; by which a large crowd can be depicted without <i>actually<\/i> having to draw a large crowd. Some of these are very evocative, and they certainly save time. Nevertheless, sometimes I think the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.savagenobles.com\/page-178\" target=\"_blank\">effect <\/a>of seeing a giant mass of people painstakingly drawn is worth it.<\/p>\n<p>The conducting postures are inspired by Hans Schliessmann&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/upload.wikimedia.org\/wikipedia\/commons\/e\/ef\/Mahler_conducting_caricature.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">live sketches of Gustav Mahler<\/a>.
